Petar M. Mitrasinovic obtained his Ph.D. (2002) in chemistry from Florida State University, USA, where was employed as Lecturer. He was European Union Research Scientist (2002) at the University of Mons-Hainaut, Belgium, Izaak Walton Killam Fellow (2003-04) at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada, Research Scientist for IBM (2005) at Henri Poincare University, Nancy, France, and Associate Professor of Biophysics (2006-08) in the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies, University of Belgrade, Serbia. He is currently Professor of Biotechnology in Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India, Research Professor in Belgrade Institute of Science and Technology, Serbia, Visiting Professor at the University of Banja Luka, Bosnia, and Invited Professor at several universities in Europe, Canada and Japan. He has published more than 50 original scientific articles, 8 review papers, 6 book chapters and 4 books in drug design, biophysics, structural biology, biotechnology, chemistry, materials science and nanotechnology. He has been invited speaker at numerous meetings and symposiums worldwide. He has been peer-elected Full Member of the European Society for Computational Methods in Science and Engineering since 2005. He has been a recipient of several prestigious international awards, such as the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Award (2003-04) from Dalhousie University, Canada, in recognition of outstanding academic achievements and the Indian National Science Academy Professorship (2009-11).
