Xiaolin Qin is currently an associate professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences as well as the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He received his Ph.D degree in computer software and theory from the Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 2011. From July 2011 to October 2013, he was an assistant professor at the Chengdu Institute of Computer Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He also serves as assistant Director and a Member of the Laboratory for Automated Reasoning and Programming, Chinese Academy of Sciences and deputy Director for Academician Office. From May 2014 to June 2015, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Programming Environment Laboratory, Linkoeping University, Sweden.
He is a member of Youth Innovation Association for Chinese Academy of Sciences. He serves as a deputy Secretary General for Chengdu Youth Association of Science and Technology. He was a local organizer for the 2014 Computer Mathematics (CM) conference. He is a TPC member for the 7th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Software Engineering (CiSE 2015). He is a member of editorial board for all affiliated Journals of BEI-ESP and an editor of International Journal of Intelligent Information Processing (IJIIP). He is also a reviewer of JSSC, IJDSDE, SJMR, JPCS, JCA, JCEA, JSMU, CAE, ICCASM, ICECCS, etc.
His research interests include reliable computing, computer modelling, artificial intelligence and computer mathematics. His research is partly supported by China 973 Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the West Light Foundation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation funded project, and EU project, etc. He has published more than 20 scientific papers in journals and conference proceedings.
