Chia Chi Chu

Biography:

Chia-Chi Chu was was born in Taipei, Taiwan(China) on 1965. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from National Taiwan(China) University (NTU), Taipei, Taiwan(China), and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, U.S.A., in 1996. From 1995 to 1996, he was a member of the technical staff at Avant! Corporation, Fremont, California, USA. During 1996 to 2006, he was a faculty member of Department of Electrical Engineering, Chang Gung University, Taoyuan, Taiwan(China). Since 2006, he has been a faculty member of Electrical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan(China), where he is currently an Associate Professor. He was a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley in 1999. His current research interests include (1) power system planning, operation, stability and control, (2) Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), (3) applications of nonlinear theory to electrical circuits and systems, and (4) computations, optimization and order reductions of large-scale systems.
Dr. Chu was the recipient of the Young Author Award of the IEEE 1997 Control of Oscillations and Chaos Conference (COC’97). He has also served as paper reviewers of various IEEE Transactions, IET Journals and other international journals
