Biography: 
Dr. T.T. Wong received his PhD degree from the University of Leicester(UK). Prior to joining the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University(PolyU), he had worked for the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department(HKCAD) in the areas of air traffic control, flight crew licensing and examinations, and flight operations safety. During this period he completed the UK Civil Aviation Authority “Airways and Approach Control” Course, the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Flight Operations Officer & Government Operations Officer and the CAA Airworthiness courses. Through the Cathay Pacific Airways Lockheed Tristar Conversion Course he successfully completed the L1011 HKCAD Technical Examination. A year after joining the Mechanical Engineering Department, he was invited as an ICAO Visiting Lecturer in the Airport Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance program (a United Nations Development Program) in the Philippines.
Dr Wong has been a Member of Editorial Board - International Journal of Plant Engineering & Management(Northwestern Polytechnical University; 1996-2009) and an Expert Member of the Assessment Panel for Quality Technology Awards (China Association for Quality; 2005).
He was Co-Chairman(International Program Committee) of the 2007 SCILAB China Contest and International Workshop on “Open Source Software Research, Development and Industrial Application” (co-sponsors include Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence), and the Program Chairman, ISSAT International Conference on Modeling of Complex Systems and Environments(HCM City, Vietnam, July 2007). He has been a Program Committee Member of the ISSAT International Conference on Reliability and Quality in Design, USA over ten years.
He was Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Marine Technology(2001-02). Currently he is the Honorary Advisor (Training) of the China Aircraft Services Ltd., Hong Kong and External Course Assessor of courses in Quality Management for the Science and Technology Division of The Open University of Hong Kong. Besides an Assessor for Professional Engineer qualifications (British Chartered Engineer and HK Registered Professional Engineer), Dr Wong is currently a Spokesman for the HK Institution of Engineers(Aircraft Engineering Discipline).
