| Biography:
Wenxian Yang received his PhD degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1999. He then did research in the field of wind and marine renewable, wind farm operation and maintenance, and machine condition monitoring and fault diagnosis in the City University of Hong Kong, Nottingham Trent University, Cranfield University, and the University of Durham. He is currently a Lecturer in Offshore Renewable Energy at Newcastle University. Before he joined Newcastle University in 2013, he has been a technical specialist for 4 years at the UK Offshore Renewable Energy CATAPULT Narec. In the past years, he has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers as well as 3 book chapters being widely cited by the field scholars. He is currently the board member of the Scientific World Journal and Journal of Power and Energy Engineering, the international funding evaluator of Portugal FCT funding Scheme and China National Natural Science Foundation. He is also the reviewer of a number of highly reputed journals, such as Renewable Energy, Wind Energy, Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, IET Journal of Renewable Power Generation, IEEE transactions on power electronics, ASME Journal of Solar Energy and so on. He is the chartered engineer of British Engineering Council, the member of IET and IEEE. His current research is focused on wind and marine turbine reliability design, condition monitoring, and the development of motion-stable offshore wind turbine platforms.
