| Biography:
Professor Wenhu Tang received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 1996 and 2000, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree from University of Liverpool, UK, in 2004. He was a Postdoctoral Research Assistant from 2004 to 2006 and a Lecturer from 2006 to 2013,both in Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, University of Liverpool, UK.
Since 2013, he is a Distinguished Professor of “Thousand Talent Program for Young Outstanding Scientists” in School of Electric Power Engineering at South China University of Technology, China. He is also a key member of “Smart Energy Network and Its Automation Group” in Guangdong Introduction of Innovative & Entrepreneurial Team.Prof. Tangis a Chartered Engineer of IET (IET CEng) anda Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE).He is currently serving as an associate editor of CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems.
He has authored and co-authored over 70 research publications and also one monograph book published by Springer. He is the Principle Investigator of a number of research grants, including UK EPSRC funding, NSFC funding, National High Technology Development (“863” Plan) funding, and “Thousand Talent Program” funding, etc. His current research interests include condition monitoring and assessment for electrical equipment, wind power generation,operation risk assessment in power systems, and intelligent decision support systems.
