Based at S&C Electric Company’s headquarters Chicago IL, Michael Edmonds is the Vice President of Strategic Solutions at the S&C Electric Company responsible for the strategy and direction of the company offerings. The group consists of the smart grid portfolio as well traditional portfolio and includes power quality/energy storage, automation, software, communication, switching & fuse products. Activities include Product lifecycle management, application engineering, portfolio development, m&a, pricing strategies & brand management. S&C Layered Intelligence? solution set for the smart grid are developed from strategic solutions and augmented via alliances. These include the IntelliTeam Self healing grid solutions, grid efficiency, demand response, communication systems, IntelliRupter pulse closer, active dynamic protection, energy storage, renewable integration and operations. Combined these offer product and solutions for the challenges the electrical power grid such as Grid Reliability, Grid efficiency &Capacity. Prior to joining the S&C Electric Company, his previous roles included VP & GM of Siemens USA Energy Automation group responsible for the real time solutions for energy management systems, substation automation and protection control. Michael was also the GM & VP of Power Technologies Inc (PTI) based in Schenectady NY from 1999 to 2008 in charge of software, education and power system consulting business.
