简介： Dr. Wei Lin received the D.Sc. and M.S. degrees in Systems Science and Mathematics from Washington University, St. Louis, in 1993 and 1991, respectively. He also received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Dalian University of Technology (1983) and Huazhong University of Science and Technology (1986), respectively. During 1986 to 1989, he was a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at Fudan University, Shanghai, China. From 1994 to 1995, he was a Post-doctor in the School of Applied Science and Engineering at Washington University. Since January of 1996, he has been a tenured professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Since 2005, he has also been affiliated with Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen Graduate School where he held honorary positions including Peng Cheng Professor, Professor of the Thousand-Talent Program and National Honorary Expert. In addition, He also held visiting positions and gave numerous invited lectures/seminar at a number of universities in the USA, Canada, Germany, U.K., France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Australia, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Czech, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong and China. Dr. Lin's research interests include nonlinear control, dynamic systems, estimation and systems identification, robust/adaptive control, control of underactuated mechanical systems and nonholonomic systems, biologically inspired systems and telerobotics, power systems, wind turbine and smart grids. In these areas, so far he has published more than 200 papers in various peer refereed journals and International conference publications. He gave a Keynote Address at the 4th Nonlinear Control Network Workshop in Sheffield, United Kingdom (2001), a Semi-Plenary Lecture at the 6th IFAC NOLCOS, Stuttgart, Germany (2004), and a Plenary Lecture at the 7th IFAC Symposium on Nonlinear Control Systems, Pretoria, South Africa (2007), a Semi-Plenary Lecture at the 21st Chinese Control and Decision Conference, Guilin, China (July, 2009), a Plenary Lecture at 2nd International Conference on Intelligent Networks and Systems (Nov., 2009), and a Plenary Speaker for the International Conference on Recent Developments in Applied and Computational Mathematics, Chiang Mai, Thailand (January, 2011). Dr. Lin was a recipient of the U.S. NSF CAREER Award (1999), the JSPS Fellow from Japan Society for the Promotion Science (2003), the Warren E. Rupp endowed Professorship (1998), and the Robert Herbold Faculty Fellow Award (2007). He has been the Board of Governors of the IEEE Control Systems Society and the IFAC Technical Committee in Nonlinear Control, Vice Program Chair (Short Papers) of the 2001 IEEE Control and Decision Conference (CDC), Vice Program Chair (Invited Sessions) of the 2002 IEEE CDC, Workshop Chair of the WCICA'06, Invited Session Chair of the WCICA'08 and 14, Regional Chair of WCICA’16, and committee member of the international conferences including IEEE CDC, ACC and IFAC NOLCOS. He was on the Blue Ribbon Panel for the Best Student Paper Award of American Control Conference (ACC)’04 and Hugo Schuck Best Paper Award Committee of the ACC’03. Dr. Lin also served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control (1999-2002), a Guest Editor of the Special Issue on ``New Directions in Nonlinear Control'' in the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control (2003), an Associate Editor of Automatica (2002-2005), a Subject Editor of Int. J. of Robust and Nonlinear Control (2005-2010), an Associate Editor of Int. J. of Robust and Nonlinear Control (2011-present), an Associate Editor of Journal of Control Theory and Applications (2005-2008).
