Biography: 
Dr. Mohammad ArifKamal did his Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) with Honors from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India in 2000, and secured Master of Architecture (M. Arch.) on a MHRD GATE Fellowship from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, in 2002 and Ph.D. in ‘Energy Responsiveness in Traditional Residential Buildings of Lucknow’ on MHRD Fellowship, from IIT, Roorkee in 2007. The author’s major fields of interest are Environmental Design, Sustainable Architecture, Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Climate Responsive Architecture, Traditional Architecture etc. He has worked as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Architecture, AMU, Aligarh, for around 5 years and also at KFUPM, Saudi Arabia for 3 years. He was awarded Junior Faculty Development Grant at KFUPM, Saudi Arabia in 2010. He also had a brief stint as a Professor (Dean), Faculty of Architecture& Planning at Integral University, Lucknow, India and as a Professor (Director) at Al Amir College of Architecture, Thiruppathur, India. He is presently working as an Associate Professor at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He has edited 5 Special Topic Volumes related to Sustainable Building Materials, published by Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. Dr. Kamal is Editorial Board Member of many International Journals and Conference related to the Field of Architecture and Construction Engineering. He is life time member of Council of Architecture, India and Associate member of Indian Institute of Architects, India. He is also panel member of many International Research Organisations and Professional Bodies.
