Prof. YiShan Lea Central Washington University, USA
Biography: YiShan Lea, Ed.D., is associate professor at Central Washington University in the Department of Education, Development, Teaching and Learning. She received her doctorate from Boise State University. Dr. YiShan Lea speaks three languages - Mandarin Chinese, English, and Spanish.Dr. Lea was an ESL teacher, a Mandarin Chinese language instructor; she is a teacher educator in the Bilingual Education/TESL Program. Dr. Lea’s research areas are critical theory, Freirean Pedagogy multicultural education, and indigenous cultural studies. Her publications investigated issues on globalization, intellectualization of the teaching profession, educational praxis per theory-reflection-action. Dr. Lea is working on a book project based on her field work among the Q’eqchi’ Mayas in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala.
