标题: Fretting wear induced mechanical failure: the role of plasticity type wear
摘要:
The needs to understand the plasticity driven wear mechanisms under fretting is fundamental. While plasticity induced wear behaviour might occur at the early stage of wear before a more standard Archard type wear is observed, the effect of early changes in the contact surface might change the stress concentration on certain regions in the contact. The potential crack initiated not only corresponds to fatigue damage but also on the effect of plasticity accumulation. Development of a plasticity induced wear model observed in fretting wear is important to improve the understanding during crack initiation stage. The model then can be incorporated in existing Archard wear model using finite element modelling to assess its effect on stresses and damages evolution with fretting cycle.
