Biography: 
Ioannis G. Stratis is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and since 2015 the Director of Postgraduate and Doctoral studies of the department. His research interests are in PDEs and Applied Mathematics. He is the co-author of a research monograph (published by Princeton University Press in 2012), and the author or co-author of more than 75 research papers in international journals and more than 20 in edited volumes. He has supervised or is supervising 6 PhD and 40 MSc theses, and has been or is the mentor of 3 postdoctoral researches. He has been and is the coordinator or a principal investigator in many funded research programs. He has participated in a big number of conferences (in many of them as an invited speaker) and given colloquium talks in over 30 universities. He has been or is a member of the editorial board of 6 international journals (among them "Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences", since 2010), and has acted as a referee for more than 50 international journals. He has been and is a member of the scientific committee and of the organizing committee of many conferences worldwide. He has been a reviewer of many funded research proposals in many countries and an evaluator of a number of mathematical research books submitted for publication to major editorial companies.
