标题: Influence of biological activity onatmospheric organic aerosols
摘要:
Organic aerosols (OA) cause adverse effects on human health and play an important role in atmospheric chemistry. Further they have a serious impact on the Earth’s climate system. While previous studies have mainly focused on inorganic contents of atmospheric aerosols, OA that make up a large fraction (up to 90%) of fine aerosol mass have received a significant attention only in recent decades. However, the relative importance of biological emissions and secondary formation/transformations of OA are not fully understood yet. In this talk, I present the importance of biological emissions and subsequent secondary formation/transformations of OA in controlling the OA budget in the Earth’s atmosphere based on chemical compositions, molecular distributions and stable carbon (13C) and radiocarbon (14C) isotopic compositions of atmospheric aerosols.
