标题: Development of drilling fluids with low density for deep saline aquifers
摘要:
The development of drilling fluids with low density for deep saline aquifers is in high demand.  This study performed several tests to find the optimal formula of drilling fluid that would be suitable under circumstances with high temperatures and salt concentrations similar to deep saline aquifers.  Drilling fluids with varying combinations of montmorillonite (Mt), sulfonated lignite (SMC), sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (Na-CMC), and polyacrylamide (PAM) were synthesized and tested.  Salt- and temperature-sensitivity analysis was done to investigate effects of ionic strength and temperature on the performance of synthesized drilling fluids.  Anti-caving ability tests were performed to check whether the drilling fluids influence porosity of aquifer upon application.  The result shows that Na-CMC plays a critical role in controlling viscosities and fluid loss characteristics, and PAM and SMC contribute to low density.  A deliberately chosen combination of Mt, SMC, Na-CMC, and PAM gives rise to a suitable formula of drilling fluid for temperatures up to 120℃ and salt concentrations up to 1.7M.
简介:
Dr. Shu-qing Hao is a professor in School of Resource and Geosciences at China University of Mining and Technology presently. She focuses on the research of resource development and exploitation, including the follow relevant topics such as new type drilling technology in complicated formation, multifunctional drilling fluid optimization, development of numerical simulation technology in geological and geology engineering, methane gas, shale gas, and gas hydrates exploitation, CO2 capture and sequestration, etc.
She obtained her PhD degree of Geology engineering from Jilin University of China in 2007, and focused on the research of drilling mud and multi-technique percussive rotary drilling technology in the Master and PhD period. After that, she pursued as a post-doctoral researcher in Tongji University and was given the first grade excellence post-docs award honor finally. Then she attended China University of Mining and Technology and became a teacher / researcher. She was promoted to professor in 2017.
From September 2011 to June 2012, as a visiting scholar, Dr. Hao attended Key Lab of Enhanced Heat Transfer and Energy Conservation, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, South China University of Technology, China, and conducted the research about “Methane hydrates-forming theoretical and technology considering climate”. From December 2012 to December 2013, as a visiting scientist, she pursued the research in Geotechnical and Hydrogeological Engineering Research Group, department of Civil Engineering at Monash University, Australia. The main research topic was “experimental and numerical modeling of fracture propagation in coal and other geomaterials” and “CH4/CO2 seepage flows in the porous structure of sediments”.
Professor Hao is the grantee of more than 8 scientific funding/projects, including National Natural Scientific Foundation of China, National Natural Scientific Youth Foundation of China, China Postdoctoral Foundation, and and Engineering & Physical Sciences Partnered Access Fund-GERC-EPSRC of United Kingdom etc. She has more than 30 publications. She is an editor of International Journal Petroleum Science. She also is a PhD degree thesis reviewer of People's Republic of China Ministry of Education Degree Thesis Management Center.
