简介:
Professor Charles Lemckert is currently the Head of Civil Engineering at Griffith University, Queensland, Australia. He earned his B.Sc. (Hon) degree in physical oceanography (1985) and a Master of Science (1990) from the Department of Geology and Geophysics, University of Sydney, and then a Ph.D. (1993) in environmental fluid dynamics from the Centre for Water Research, University of Western Australia. He then accepted an academic posting in the School of Engineering and Information Technology, Deakin University, before moving to the Griffith School of Engineering, Griffith University in 1997. He holds adjunct appointments at the University of Southern Queensland, Kumamoto University, Japan, and the National University of Ireland. He is the editorial board member of Journal of Coastal Research and the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Journal. Professor Lemckert has over 25 years of experience in environmental fluid dynamics studies, with particular emphasis on coastal and lake system dynamics. He has published over 60 original research papers in peer review international SCI journals, including the Journal of Hydrology and the Journal of Geophysical Research, and has written several book chapters. His current projects include the study of water treatment maturation ponds to enhance recycling potential, coastal sediment transport dynamics, enhancing search and rescue success through consensus modelling approaches, and the reduction of evaporation from water systems using various covers. He is a recipient of various research grants from organisations such as the Australian Research Council, the Australian Water Recycling Centre of Excellence, and the Cooperative Research Centre for Polymers.
