Biography: 
Dr Ismini Vasileiou is a Lecturer in Information Systems at Plymouth University, UK in the School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics (SoCEM), specialising in Database Development (Oracle, Spatial etc) managing the Oracle Academy. She has an extensive experience in SQL, software development and project management. Ismini Vasileiou belongs to two big research groups, the Infosecurity and Big Data, with based at the University of Plymouth. Additionally Ismini Vasileiou has a great interest in Teaching and learning and more specifically in Learning Analytics. She is supervising a number of PhD students on various topics related to Teaching and learning in Higher Education. Ismini is the Chair of STEM SIG International Academic Peer Learning Leadership Group in Higher Education and has recently been awarded research money for a new pilot in Peer learning. Ismini is an active member of women in STEM community and part of a variety of committees and advisory groups supporting equality, diversity and inclusion. Being nominated twice for a WISE Advisor award, she is not only working towards an equal and diverse environment at her workplace, but also participating in international activities to promote and support women in STEM. Recently she was invited to deliver a TEDx talk as part of her ongoing support for gender rights. In addition, Ismini Vasileiou is chairing the Equality and Diversity Committee for the Faculty of Science and Engineering and leading the Athena Swan bid for the School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics. Ismini's external engagements vary from reviewing paper for journals, invited keynote speeches, and delivering a variety of training such as Unconscious Bias.
