Biography: 
Nikolai Inokent’evich Pliusnin (N.I. Plusnin in publications) is currently the Chief Researcher and Head of Sector of Quntum - Size Heterosystems in the Institute of Automation and Control Processes of Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Vladivostok (Province of Primorye), Russia. He was Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, Innovation and Business Systems and then Professor in Vladivostok State University of Economic and Service (VSUES). Also he was Professor in Far Eastern Technical University. He holds the academic (from the Russian Academy of Science) title of the “Associated Professor”. He holds degree of Doctor of Physical-Mathematical Sciences in semiconductors physics (in addition to the degree of PhD in solid state physics). Now his specialization is scientific research in Nanophysics.

Research Interests: nanotechnology and nanomaterials for electronic engineering with an emphasis on spintronics, nanoplasmonics and nanomagnetoplasmic. Scientific direction of NI Plusnin is management of formation of atomically thin interfaces in ultrathin films. 

Professional Activities and Awards: He had Research Fellowship at the Institute of Physics of Microstructures (Hale, Germany) and was Visiting Professor at the Institute of Advanced Technology and Materials of Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan). He was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Russian Academy of Sciences and has Primorsky Krai Governor's Prize "For scientific achievements". He is a member of the Advisory Board of the international journal "e-Journal of Surface Science and Nanotechnology". Under the his scientific supervision, several PhD dissertations was defended. He has published more than 120 articles in scientific journals (of which more than 35 indexed SCI) and more than 10 patents. His research was supported by Russian Ministry of Education and Science, Russian Academy of Sciences and Government of the Russian Federation.
