Biography: 
Dr. Chenglong Zhang is currently a Computational Software Engineer at the Geophysics Technology Center, Schlumberger LLC, Houston Texas, U.S.A.. Schlumberger is the world’s largest oilfield technology service company. Dr. Zhang is responsible for algorithm development and scientific computing for an extensive selection of leading-edge geoscience technologies. He obtained his B.S. in Mathematics in Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. He holds degrees of Master and Ph.D. in Computational and Applied Mathematics from The Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences (ICES), University of Texas at Austin, U.S.A. During his Ph.D., his research fields focused on computational and applied mathematics, with applications to nonlinear kinetic theories and rarefied gas dynamics. His researches on numerical schemes for full nonlinear Boltzmann equation, Fokker-Planck-Landau equation modelling collisional plasma, numerical study of relaxation rates of solutions for Boltzmann equations and Landau equations, etc., have been published in Journal of Computational Physics, Journal of Statistical Physics, etc. He is also serving as technical program committee member for international conferences, and professional reviewer/referee for various journals, e.g. Journal of Scientific Computing, Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Computers and Mathematics with Applications, Journal of Porous Media, Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society, International Journal of Computing Science and Mathematics, etc.
