Former Vice-Chairman, National Planning Commission of Nepal, Nepal
Biography: 
I have been working in the areas of planning, strategy formulation, policy advising and research for more than 25 years. I have led National Planning Commission of Nepal as the Vice-Chairman, which is a position ranked at par with a cabinet minister. Previously, I worked as the Head of the Research Department of the central bank of Nepal for five years. I have also worked as the Economic Advisor to Ministry of Finance of the Government of Nepal and as the Senior Economist and Visiting Research Economist at the South East Asian Central Banks Research and Training Centre (The SEACEN Centre) on deputation. As the visiting faculty, I have taught managerial economics to MBA students. I have completed doctoral level studies (Ph.D.) in economics from University of Wollongong, Australia, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Hult International Business School (Huron Campus), London, United Kingdom, and Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) and Master’s in Political Science (MA) from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.
I have led ministerial level delegations to regional and international meetings and have worked as the keynote speaker, main presenter, chair and panellist on economics, finance and development related issues at several international, regional and national summits, forums and conferences. I have published 7 books and a significant number of research papers in peer-reviewed international journals on time series econometrics, capital flows, monetary policy, welfare, international migration, and financial inclusion. I have been ranked as one of the top 5% authors based on number of abstract views in Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) service over the past 12 months. I have worked as the chief editor of NRB Economic Review and also reviewed papers for international journals such as Singapore Economic Review and New Zealand Economic Papers, among others.
