标题: Mathematics with applications to Biomedical big data
摘要:
Some mathematical problems in biomedical big data mining will be presented, including transcriptome assembly, gene expression biclustering analysis, cancer driver gene/pathway prediction etc. It will be presented how important the applied mathematics and computer science are in precision medicine, and how many opportunities and challenges from the field of life science have been facing to mathematicians and computer scientists as well as some progress of mathematical problems from the field of biomedical big data.
简介:
Dr. Li received his PhD degree in Mathemtics from Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing in 1996, and immediately move to Shandong University as a post doc. He was promoted as a full professor in 1998 after ending his postdoctoral fellowship. In 2004,he was invited as a research professor by CAS, and hired as a senior research scientist by University of Georgia in 2006. He presided over one key project and oversaw one key project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and presided over 12 general projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His research in the related areas of mathematics, computer science and bioinformatics has appeared in over 100 papers in refereed journals. His research is notable for having settled several fundamental problems in computer science and discrete mathematics. Since 2004 his research has focused on bioinformatics. I have developed algorithms and software packages for solving a number of challenging computational biology problems.
