标题: Discovery of magnetic topological semimetal state in NdSb
摘要:
NdSb, which has an antiferromagnetic ground state below 15 K, is changed into a ferromagnetic state under high magnetic field. Our band structure calculations and magnetoresistance results demonstrate that NdSb is a Weyl semimetal in its antiferromagnetic state and it is turned into a three-dimensional Dirac semimetal in ferromagnetic state. Moreover, a field-induced Fermi surface reconstruction is observed, in response to the change of spin polarization. The observation of topological semimetal state in a magnetic material provides an opportunity to investigate the magneto-topological phenomena.
简介:
Dr. Zhang obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 1998 and PhD degree in 2003 from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). From 2003 to 2006, he served as a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Physics of Seoul National University. From 2006 to 2009, he worked in the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology as a JSPS fellow and an AIST researcher. Since 2009, Dr. Zhang has been working in High Magnetic Field Laboratory of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) as a professor. Dr. Zhang was awarded by the “Hundred Talent Program” of CAS in 2010. He was also appointed as a professor of USTC since 2011, an adjunct professor of Hefei University of Technology and Anhui University since 2012. He is currently serving as an editorial board member of 《Scientific Report》, an international academic journal of Nature Publishing Group. Dr. Zhang serves as a member of the Youth Association of CAS. His research interest includes the exploration of new superconducting materials, new topological materials and new two-dimensional semiconductors, as well as the investigation of fundamental physical phenomena under high magnetic field.
