Dr. Sayan Dutta Gupta is an associate professor at the department of pharmaceutical chemistry, Gokaraju rangaraju college of pharmacy, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He holds a PhD degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from Jawaharlal Technological University, Hyderabad, India. He completed his M.Pharmacy (pharmaceutical chemistry) from Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal, Madhyapradesh, India. He has more than ten years of research experience ranging from industry to academia. His research work focused on rational drug design, synthesis and biological evaluation of small molecule Hsp90 inhibitors as antineoplastic agents. He has published more than 30 papers in high impact journals, books and conference proceedings. He has participated in the scientific committee of several conferences and serves as a reviewer in a wide range of peer reviewed high impact journals such as European journal of medicinal chemistry, bioorganic and medicinal chemistry letters, journal of molecular graphics and modeling, etc. He has an international collaboration for the discovery of novel chemical molecules against cancer. A few of the molecules discovered is in the process of being patented. He was involved in obtaining research funds from various agencies for the discovery of novel anticancer molecules. Currently, he is interested in improving the efficacy of various drug-designing softwares for better predictability of biological activity for novel molecules.
