B.S.E.E., Seoul National University, Korea, 1970; M.S., M.Phil., and Ph.D., Applied Physics, Yale University, 1973, 1975 and 1977.  Teaching, research and management at Yale, Princeton, AT&T, ETRI, KAIST, and INHA in the fields of semiconductor physics, materials, devices, optoelectronics, photonics, and optical communication.Professor and Dean, Graduate School of the IT; Director, Optics and Photonics Elite Research Academy and Micro-Photonics Advanced Research Center; Vice President, Optical Society of Korea; President, IEEE-LEOS Korea; Executive Director, SPIE-Korea. 280 international journal and review papers; 640 international conference presentations; 180 international plenary, keynote, and invited talks; Edited 10 books and proceedings; 100 services as international conference chair, committee member, and advisor. Fellow of APS, IEEE, IEE, OSA, SPIE, KPS, IEEK, and KAST.20 national and international awards.Former Editor, IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2009-2011.
