Dr. Jory Yarmoff is Full Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of California, Riverside, where he has been on the faculty since 1989. He completed his B.S. in Physics at the State University of New York at Stonybrook and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Yarmoff investigates the physical and chemical properties of solid surfaces and interfaces, chemical reactions at surfaces, and particle-surface interactions, with applications in nanoscale materials, semiconductor processing, tribology, catalysis, and environmental sciences. He is author or co-author on over 160 publications and has given more than 85 invited lectures at national and international conferences and institutions throughout the world. He has graduated 14 Ph.D. students and has 5 others currently in his group.  Dr. Yarmoff served as Divisional Dean for Physical and Mathematical Sciences in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences from 2004-12.
