Biography

Chien-Hung Yeh
Chien-Hung Yeh
Feng Chia University, Chinese Taipei
Biography:

Chien-Hung Yeh received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Department of Physics, Fu-Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, in 1998 and 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 2004. Then, he joined the Information and Communications Research Laboratories (ICL), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan, in October 2004, as a Researcher for the advanced research on optical access technology. He was engaged mainly in the research and development of fiber-optics, fiber lasers and fiber communication systems. These include the fiber amplifiers, wavelength-tunable erbium-doped fiber (EDF) lasers, laser applications, wavelength converters, fiber sensor technologies, FTTH access, 40Gbps high-speed passive access networks (PONs), radio-over-fiber (ROF) technologies at ITRI, Taiwan. Besides, he has studied and analyzed the optical characteristics of ferroelectric materials, such as PZT, BTO, PMN-PT and PZN-PT etc., via Brillouin scattering and dielectric permittivity measurements for the ultrasonic and energy conversion applications. And he investigated fiber-based sensor technologies for strain, temperature and bio-sensing applications. He worked as a Sensor Lead Researcher at ICL/ITRI, Taiwan, in July 2008. He headed the Advanced Optical Communication Research Group covering fiber amplifiers, fiber lasers, optical access technologies and their applications for New-Generation Passive Optical Networks (PONs), including WDM laser source, novel WDM-PON Architecture, 40/100 Gbps fiber access, OFDM-PON and ROF-PON. Now, Dr. Yeh is also developing the Green Techniques in optical access networks, covering the long-reach PON, power-saving technology, and energy-efficient device. And he investigates the Optical-Green LED communications for the home lighting and networking. Besides, he demonstrates and analyzes the Silicon-Photonics and THz-Wave generator for ROF-PON and 5G mobile access applications simultaneously. In August 2014, He joined the faculty of Department of Photonics, Feng Chia University, in Taiwan. Now, he has published more than 200 journal papers, 150 conference papers, and 55 granted patents in these research areas.
