Mar¨ªa Antonia Navascu¨¦s is Professor of the Engineering and Architecture School of the University of Zaragoza (Spain). She completed her doctorate at the same University. She has been Visitor Professor at several foreign Universities. She is Member of the Editorial Board of eight international publications (Applied Mathematics, International Journal of the Latest Trends in Mathematics, Current Advances in Mathematics, German Journal on Advanced Mathematical Sciences, International Journal of Advanced Mathematical Sciences, Journal of Applied and Computational Mathematics, Archimedes Journal of Mathematics, Antarctica Journal of Mathematics). Formerly she was Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, and is Reviewer of the American Mathematical Society. Professor Navascu¨¦s has about one hundred and twenty published contributions, considering papers in international journals as well as communications to meetings on Mathematics and Engineering. Her article ¡°Fractal bases of Lp spaces¡± was in the list of Most Read Papers of the journal Fractals during the whole year 2013. She is an internationally recognized expert in Fractal Interpolation and Approximation and their Applications. Her main theoretical contribution is the definition of Fractal Functions close to classical, and the construction of Fractal Bases for the most important Spaces of Functions. Professor Navascu¨¦s leads two research groups, in the University of Zaragoza and in the Indian Institute of Technology of Madras. She has been occasional referee of dozens of publications in Mathematics and Physics. She is co-author of a book on Calculus of One and Several Variables with Computer Practices (in Spanish). She has participated in several International Conferences taking part in the Organizer as well as the Scientific Committee. Prof. Navascu¨¦s has been an international external examiner of several phD candidates. She was the Guest Editor of several Special Issues on Fractal Theory and Applied Mathematics. Since November 14th, 2015 she is the Secretary of the Real Sociedad Matem¨¢tica Espa?ola (Royal Spanish Mathematical Society).
