  • Biography:
    Dr. Zheng has over 30 years of research and teaching experience in biomechanics and rehabilitation. He is currently an associate professor and Biomechanics and Mobility Research Leader at the Center for Biomedical Engineering and Science, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA. He has a bachelor degree in Engineering from Zhejiang University, a master degree in Medicine from College of Medicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University. He completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 1995 at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.  Dr. Zheng teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Orthopedic Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Exercises, Biomedical Instrumentation, Biodynamics, Problem-based Learning at University of Florida and University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is also an affiliate faculty member in the Gerontology Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He served as a faculty member of many continuing education courses for physical therapists.

    Dr. Zheng's research interests are in the area of orthopedic biomechanics, sports medicine and rehabilitation, human motion capture and analysis. Currently he is working on fall prevention with technology, rehabilitation of the knee and shoulder joint following injury and surgery. 
    Dr. Zheng is the author of 2 book chapters, and 68 peer-reviewed papers. He has presented his research findings at over 70 conferences both nationally and internationally. He is a reviewer for over 20 international professional journals and is a member of the Orthopedic Research Society, American Society of Biomechanics and American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society. He served as editorial board member of American Orthopedic Journal, Chinese Medical Journal, ISRN Rehabilitation, World Journal of Orthopedics and Advance in Biomechanics and Application.
