  • Biography:
    Sally Davis has over thirty years of professional experience in various areas of nursing and university education. She worked at Rivermead Rehabilitation Centre in Oxford as a senior nurse for twelve years then for the last sixteen years has worked as a university lecturer and programme lead for a variety of programmes including rehabilitation. 

    Sally is now programme lead in the Faculty ofHealth and Life Sciences, being responsible for a Master’s programme in Rehabilitation and a BSc and MSc in Nutrition.She teaches in the area of rehabilitation and research and supervises dissertation students. She also teaches in Hong Kong on an MSc Nursing programme and runs a Cultural Orientation Programme for international students within the Faculty.Sally graduated with an MSc in Nursing from City University in London in 1991 and also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Adult Education from Guildford University and a Diploma in Management. She is currently in the finishing stages of her PhD. 

    Sally’s areas of interest are internationalisation of the curriculum, health promotion, the nurses’ role in rehabilitation, the ICF, issues around disability and rehabilitation and sexuality and sexual health. Sally was a member of the working party for the RCN Guidance Document on Sexuality and Sexual Health, published in 2000 and on the working party for the 2000 National Clinical Guidelines for Stroke. Sally’s research interest and the focus of her PhD is on the cultural sensitivity of rehabilitation using a concept analysis approach analysing the literature and collecting data in India. Sally is author of two rehabilitation books, two book chapters and nine peer reviewed papers. She has presented at a number of national and international conferences and is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation.
