Biography


Prof. Alberto Facchini
University of Padua, Italy
Biography:
Alberto Facchini is a Full Professor of Algebra at the Università di Padova, Italy, Department of Mathematics. He studied in Padova, where he received the Laurea in Mathematics in 1977. His main scientific results concern the validity of the Krull-Schmidt Theorem for artinian modules (problem of Krull), the validity of the Krull-Schmidt Theorem for serial modules (problem of Warfield), and the structure of the monoids of isomorphism classes of projective modules. He has authored almost 120 research articles and 4 books in mathematics. Facchini is in the editorial board of Bollettino dell'Unione Matematica Italiana, Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae, Communications in Algebra, International Journal of Modern Mathematics, ISRN Algebra, Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Journal for Algebra and Number Theory Academia, Journal of the Egyptian Mathematical Society, JP Journal of Algebra, Number Theory and Applications, Rendiconti del Seminario Matematico dell'Università di Padova (now as a Trustee), Journal of Advanced Research in Pure Mathematics, Algebra (Hindawi), Journal of Semigroup Theory and Applications, and Scienze e Ricerche Professor. Facchini is a recipient of the “Bonavera Prize" (1981).
