Abstract:
The recently evolved optoelectronic technique namely Electronic Speckle Pattern interferometry(ESPI) is a fast developing optical technique widely used for measuring displacement componenets, their derivatives, surface roughness, surface contours, shape etc.,. Due to non contact nature and high sensitivity, this technique has been used as a powerful on line inspection tool for non destructive pattern of materials in industrial environment.
ESPI is an alternate non destructive technique suitable for propellant grains and other low modulus materials used in space vehicle systems.
An endoscopic electronic speckle pattern interferometer camera can be applied to examine objects as well as for in vitro and in vivo minimal invasive medical diagnostics. The combination of holographic interferometric metrology with endoscopic imaging allows the development of a special class of instruments for nondestructive quantitative diagnostics within the body cavities.
Nondestructive testing through electronic speckle pattern interferometry techniques paved a revolution not only for industrial environment but also in medical field. This lecture will deal with these developments with several case study
