Chen Bin

Biography:

Dr. Chen Bin is now a full professor and vice director in State Key Laboratory of Multiphase Flow in Power Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University. He received his Ph.Din 2002 from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. Afterwards, he worked at the National Maritime Research Institute of Japanas PostdoctoralResearch Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciencefrom 2002 to 2004. Dr. Chen was an academic visitor at Osaka Universityin 2007 and University of Maryland 2012.

For more than a decade, Dr. Chen has devoted his efforts to the research of computational multiphase flow, in particular with the development of techniques for interface capturing method in complicated domain. He is currently developing Bubble Packing Method to generate unstructured grid, PLIC-VOF method on unstructured grid, MPS method with bio-medical applications. He also conducts investigation of multiphase flow and heat transfer related to Cryogen Spray Cooling in Laser Treatment of skin disease. Dr. Chen is director of subsidiary panels of Multi-phase Flows, professional committee of Fluid Mechanics, the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM), and member of International Information Center for Multiphase Flow. Now he is a member of the Editorial Boards of Open Journal of Fluid Dynamics, Modeling and Simulation, and Journal of Chemical Industry and Engineering.
